2016 EXPANDED HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE
DTC EXPANDS ITS partnersHIPS with the LOCAL BUSINESSES AND GROUPS
In its third year, we expect to double the amount of holiday toy wishes to local children. Last year, with the help of the Methuen Police and Fire Departments we granted over 300 wishes. We also collected an additional 600 toys from our drive that were distributed to local children in need.
This year because of the expansion of our partners, such as the Methuen Police and Fire, Lawrence District Court, students from Methuen High School, Lawrence District Court Personnel and other local law enforcement agencies we expect to grant over 600 wishes to the six social service agencies that received invitations to ask for toys. Case workers from the Greater Lawrence Community Action Council, Healthy Families, Department of Families and Children (Lawrence and Haverhill offices), Veteran's Court, Substance Abuse Recovery Court, Supportive Care and MAN, Inc. have all submitted their clients wishes.
Adding to the toy drive are several local businesses and agencies that have toy boxes ready to be filled by the public with UNWRAPPED toys. You can drop off your donations at the following locations:
Methuen City Hall, Methuen Police Department, Methuen Senior Center, The Savings Bank on Burnham Road, Renaissance Salon, Monte Carlo Salon, and Sports Clips of Danvers and Plaistow.
We will also be collecting at the Methuen Tree lightning at the Nevin's Library on November 26 from 5-7 PM.
All toys will distributed to the case workers on December 10th from 10-12 at our Treasure Chest at 15 Union Street, suite 411, Lawrence, MA
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to donate or need a box for your location.
Donations for toys are DROP OFF AND MAIL ONLY
MARY LOU'S COAT DRIVE
KEEPING KIDS WARM
This year DTC lost one of its most generous supporters., Mary Lou Fehrmann. Because of her kindness and generosity DTC has purchased over 1000 coats for children in the Merrimack Valley. This year her son Fred Fehrmann and daughter in law Kim Clark have donated the funds again to keep Mary Lou's dream alive. Five groups have been chosen to receive new coats this year. It warms our hearts to know that kids from MAN, Inc, Healthy Kids, and the Department of Children and Families (Haverhill and Lawrence offices), Supportive Care families and the Greater Lawrence Community Council will be wearing Mary Lou coats.
If you are a referring source in need of a coat for a client, please fill in the coat request form. This is for winter coats only. Referrals will be accepted after October 1st.
If you are interested in shopping for coats or donating new coats or money for coats, please email email@example.com
