Debbie's Treasure chest was founded by three children who wanted to help other children in their community. When
children are removed from their homes by the state, they enter foster
care alone and without any "stuff." We are collecting items and bags to
create "treasure chests" for children who enter foster care, by providing these children with things that help make the transition a little bit easier. We are in
need of backpacks, cosmetics, (shampoo, toothpaste and brushes),
journals, stuffed animals, new clothes, etc. We Work with social workers at the Department of Children and Families (DCF, DCF is the new name for the Department of Social Services, DSS) and other agencies. Contact maxine@debbiestreasurechest.org for more info.
